Hello There

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. Any big plans for this weekend? I'm so excited to be having not one but two Stampin' Up! workshops this weekend. I love sharing great projects with my stamping friends. Tomorrow I'm doing a special class with the Jar of Love Bundle. Don't worry I'll share those projects with you soon. And Sunday I'm doing a workshop with a great group of ladies in Hawley who get together every month. Told you it was a great stamping weekend ahead.

This week at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing with you different projects made in the catalog using the different categories. I decided to share with you a card using a background stamp. Yep, the large pineapple on this card is considered a background stamp. I must say, "I LOVE IT." I can see this used for so many things, not just cards. It would make a great home decor piece. Stamp it a few times, cut pieces out and layer them together to make a 3D image and then put it in a shadowbox frame.

I also used the Pop of Paradise stamp set for the row of little pineapples that are on the white layer and the hello greeting. The really cool thing is I used the Playful Palette Designer series paper for the trim. Not what you would normally think but I love how the black polka dots pull it all together and really makes it pop.

To ink up the large pineapple, I actually use the pads and not markers. It's large enough that if you turn it over, you can see to ink the leaves green and the bottom the peekaboo peach. You may get a tad of overlapping but what pineapple doesn't have a little green near the stem? Of course, the pineapple and the little hello greeting at attached using my favorite things: dimensionals!

Don't forget to visit Sisters in Stamping for more ideas from the other categories in the catalog. Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

No Bones About It, You Should Join Me

Hello Stamping Friends,

How's your first week of summer going? Have any great plans for vacation this summer? Our summer is going to be jammed packed with family visiting, trips to the beach, and fun little day trips from time to time. We have already went strawberry picking (I love that summer past time), saw Finding Dory (which was adorable), and last night I took my dad to see Dolly Parton (his Father's Day gift), so I would say the summer here is starting off nicely.

Don't forget there's always time for stamping too. I have classes mixed in with all of our personal family fun or you can host your own. My next class is a week today, Stamp a Stash. You make 12 cards for $20. If you want to attend just let me know. It's always a great time. Or better yet, you can become a part of this great family that I have been a part of for the past 15 years. If you love the great products Stampin' Up! offers, you can get a discount on all your supplies, or you can get some extra money towards a car payment, kids extras (piano lessons, soccer, camp, etc). Why don't you at least try it? There's nothing to lose, just a whole lot to gain. When I joined 15 years ago, I just wanted the discounted. Now, I love my little business and teaching others all about stamping while making some extra money for my family. There is a special deal going on right now (until June 30th), you get to select $125 in product AND 2 extra stamp sets of any value for JUST $99 plus free shipping.  You can select over $200 worth of product for just $99. There's no risks, no commitment if you feel it's just not for you after all. It's a great deal and I would love for you to be able to take part of it.

This card is a fun card to make, especially if you want a unique fold without too much effort. It's a z-fold card. You start with a half sheet of cardstock (4 1/4" x 11") and fold it in half. Then you take the front edge and fold it back to the crease. See, that's it, super easy, right? Then you select some coordinating paper, your stamp images and ink and have fun making it extra special.

I will note that the designer series paper and the washi tape are no longer available but I still wanted to show you this fun card. You can easily swap them out for current product too.

Here's a different angle for you to see it better. Tip: on the front piece that you stamp, only put adhesive on the left side of the paper. If not, you will be adhering the card closed and you don't want that to happen.

The dinosaurs are a great set for little boys, but think about it, wouldn't it be a good card to give someone "older" that is celebrating a huge milestone birthday. You know, kind of like they are as old as a dinosaur? Guess you would have to be give it to someone with a great sense of humor.

As always, thanks for stopping by and make it a great stamp day.

Welcome to the In Colors

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you. Any big plans for the weekend? It is Father's Day on Sunday so don't forget Dad. Remember there were some great Father's Day cards shared last week with Sisters in Stamping. This week with the Sisters we are sharing projects using the new in-colors for 2016-2018. I really like this year's colors and can see using them a lot. I always love the anticipation of what the colors will look like and what the name of each color will be. It's always fun to see them for the first time.

This card is made to look like a door with wreath hanging on it. I used all of the new in colors except sweet sugarplum to make this card. Even got some of the awesome new ruched ribbon represented. This card has a lot of layers and it is a bit labor intensive so I wouldn't suggest making a 100 of these beauties but making one or two for a special occasion like a house warming party you may be going to isn't so bad.  I honestly love how this card turned out. The Swirly bird stamp  set is so versatile and I will be using it a lot.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for more great ideas using the fun new in colors.

Don't forget tomorrow is the:
