So Sad to See Some Stamps Say Sayonara!

Hello Stamping Friends,

As you are all well aware of, the retirement list made it's huge debut last week. It's an exciting and yet sad time of year. So excited to see the new catalog filled with new stamps and goodies and really sad to see some of my favorite stamp sets set sail to enjoy their retirement. This week at Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on those great sets and sharing with you some of our favorite sets that are heading out in just a few short weeks.

BTW, don't you love the title of today's post? I had fun with the alliteration almost by accident. I had it all typed and realized I couldn't just say goodbye since the rest of the words were all "s" Yes, I was chuckling to myself. I think I could work for Stampin' Up!'s home office in naming colors after this. LOL

The bountiful borders stamp set is one I wanted right away but then set it aside and didn't use it nearly as much as I wanted to. I love the bold flower because it packs such a punch with minimal effort. After all this time, I believe you know that's exactly the kind of stamps I love. None of the fussy coloring for me. Now fussy cutting on the other hand, I'm all over that. I know some of you are rolling your eyes just reading that because you roll those eyes when I make you fussy cut. Good thing we have so many great dies and punches to help out with so many of the stamp sets.

This card is super quick to put together but is so nice and it's all due to the multiple layers on the card that are creating a nice visual. Two colors of cardstock, black and vanilla. Three colors of ink, calypso coral, cucumber crush and basic black and one designer series paper.

I didn't even use the big shot. I know that's hard to believe (even for me). So this card shows you, you can still do quick and easy with minimal amount of supplies. Hope you enjoy it.

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers

Hello Stamping Friends,

Hope you are having a fantastic week and have the perfect plans (whatever that may be for you) this weekend. I have a busy but perfect weekend coming. It's the annual Spring Retreat tomorrow, which I always look forward to. Plus there's some soccer this weekend as well. I love watching Jonah and his team play but I always enjoy being with the parents (they have become family over the past several years) too.

This week the theme over at Sisters in Stamping is Flowers, Flowers, Flowers everywhere. It is that time of year when they are all starting to bloom. I love driving around seeing all the color and new life popping up outside in the Spring. Stampin' Up! has so many great flower stamp sets that it's difficult to choose just one and that's why we all end up with a lot of great flowers to create beautiful cards and gifts with.

I used the botanical garden framelits to make my card this week. The only stamping I did was the greeting. Seriously, how in the world did I create before we had the big shot? I'll never know that answer. Anyway, the base of my card is basic black. Then there is another layer of black that I embossed with the delicate dots folder (it is 1/4" smaller in size than the base). I then die cut a piece of whisper white cardstock using the vine framelit in the set. I set it down on a slight angle instead of straight up and down. Notice the bottom part is over farther to the left than the top. Then just diecut one of the larger flowers and three of the smaller ones. I also added a piece of whisper white cardstock to the inside of the card so you can write your message easily. Stick a pearl inside the center of each flower and you are finished. A perfectly simple, fun and elegant card.

Don't forget to head over to Sisters in Stamping for even more great flower cards and projects. Remember to enjoy your weekend.

Thank You

Hello Stamping Friends,

I know you are probably wondering who I am since I haven't posted in way too long. I'm still here, I'm still stamping, I've just had a lot of other things that have required my attention. I miss blogging. I miss all of you. Thank you for hanging in there because I'm back.

Also, thank you for another great Sale-a-bration. I wasn't sure how this season was going to be for me with all that I have had going on but I must say, now that it is over, thank you, thank you, thank you. It was wonderful. I really appreciate all the love and support I get from each of you.

I'm so glad the theme this week with Sisters in Stamping is a thank you card. It just works with my post and my thoughts.

This is a thank you card I made using the Apple of My Eye stamp set. Whenever we have a fruit set, I just have to have them. Since this is the only card I have made with this set, I best get moving and make some other cards and projects using the rest of the fruit.

This is a pretty easy card to recreate. I corner rounded opposite sides on the white and pear pizzazz layers and then also on the small white cardstock the main pear is stamped on. I stamped the pear on the pear pizzazz layer in old olive, added two strips of washi tape cut on an angle and finished that layer off with a nice crisp black thank you. Then for the main image, I stamped the pear and the stem right on the white cardstock. I stamped the leaf on a scrap piece of cardstock, cut it out and added it to the pear using a dimensional. The main image is also attached to the card using dimensionals.

Don't forget to head on over to Sisters in Stamping for more thank you card ideas.
