Happy Times

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Friday to you! You know what Friday means, right? Fabulous Friday with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are doing a sketch challenge, using designer series paper.  (See the picture below) I like sketch challenges because the hard part is done for you. Don't you think the most difficult part of making a card is designing it? Well, with the design done, you just need to fill in paper and stamps. Pretty simple!

Don't forget this month's special is Designer Series Paper, buy 3 get 1 FREE. The sketch challenge works perfect for this special too. We all have scraps of paper around that we need something to do with it.  So get out your paper and try this sketch for yourself.

Here is what I came up with. I only used one stamp (for the greeting) on the entire card. The rest of the card was designed using the Maritime designer series paper. Pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

Even the octopus holding the sailboat, starfish, and lobster is designer paper. Seriously, it was that easy! What do you think? I know the cutting of the octopus is tedious but it's so darn cute, I couldn't help myself. I actually didn't even buy the coordinating stamp set, yet! However, I knew I could create some cute things using the designer paper so I had to have it.

Stamping Supplies Used:
Stamps: Something to Say
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White Cardstock and Maritime Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Arrows Embossing Folder, Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder, Circles Framelits, Dimensionals, Paper Snippers & Snail Adhesive

Time to Get Personal

Hello Stamping Friends,

So glad you can join me again today. It's time for a Fabulous Friday posting with the Sisters in Stamping. This week we are sharing ideas using the alphabet as a start. That's right, ABC's are on the agenda. We all love our name on things and the alphabet stamps can help you out with that. Plus, they can let you personalize and change the look of just about anything.
For the challenge this week, I altered a notebook. Of course, I feel in love with this notebook when I saw it. It was pink. It had polka dots. It was all I needed. So, it was mine. I knew there was a little altering on the agenda as well. Nothing a couple of stamps, some punches, and a big shot can't accomplish with minimal effort.

Here's a close up of the altered part. I love how the flower stamps I used each have some polka dots on them to help accentuate the rest of the polka dots on the cover of the notebook. I love my polka dots. The more the merrier, in my humble opinion.

Don't forget to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more ideas using alphabets. Go stamp something today and personalize it with an alphabet.

Happy Independence Day

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy 4th of July to you. Hope you have enjoying your days with friends and family while cooking out and waiting to see some fireworks. Today at Sisters in Stamping we are sharing projects with a Red, White & Blue theme for the occasion.

This is a banner I made for a class in June. I do the banner class monthly so be sure to make time to come to one. They are great decorative accents for each holiday, season or occasion.

Of course, there are some close-up's for you so you can see the detail better. The four pieces without a letter were sponged with the stars stencil and the three pieces for each of the letters were sponged with the stripes stencil (that comes with the banner kit).

The pinwheels behind each letter came from June's My Paper Pumpkin Kit. You can subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin and get a kit each month delivered right to your door. It includes everything you need to make cards, mini scrapbooks, home décor, and gift items (each month is different) except scissors. You can subscribe monthly or purchase a 3 month, or 6 month subscription. You can even get a subscription for one month, just to try it out.

A few pieces of ribbon were a perfect touch in between each of the banner pieces.

This banner was made by one of the ladies in the class. It uses all of the same pieces I used, but she put it together a little differently. I love when class attendees get creative and use the same class pieces but come up with something that looks so different from mine. Great job Nicole. I love it.

Don't forget to visit Sisters in Stamping to see some other great red, white, & blue projects.

Blendabilities are Available

Hello Stamping Friends,

I have some great and exciting news. The Stampin' Blendabilities Markers are now available!  I've been receiving questions regarding them.  I can tell, many of you are excited!  So here's a sneak peek at them along with some basic information.

The Blendabilities are an exclusive alcohol-based marker set that come in a 3-pack of light, medium and dark shades (of the same color ), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colors. We recommend using Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock when using them, but any one of our cardstocks would work just as well.

The first set of Blendabilities products will include:

  • Coastal Cabana
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Old Olive
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Skin Tone Assortment (set of six)
  • Memento Ink Pad & refill
  • Color Lifter

What sets Blendabilities apart:

  • The Stampin' Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away
  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker
  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine
  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray
  • Color coded caps
  • Can be used with transparent sheets and to color pearls, rhinestones, buttons, etc
  • And of course...Stampin' Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock!

These photos were taken at the 2014 Catalog Premiere Event I attended in April.  Carrie Cudney from Stampin' Up! shared them with us. Flower image is from a new single stamp, Blended Bloom.

I'm sure you'll want to add them to your wish list or order them right away so you can play with them. Check out my class schedule, too, because the class will teach you some different techniques using the great new markers.

These make me even want to color. If you know anything at all about me with stamping, you know I don't like to color.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Hello Stamping Friends,

I sincerely thank each and every one of you for supporting me this past year. Yesterday was the end of the Stampin' Up! year and today begins a new year for me as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Isn't that exciting, I get to celebrate New Year twice every year.

Because of the love and support of all of you, customers, fellow demonstrators, including downline members, and of course, my family, I earned the Getaway trip to Washington, D.C. in September for Don and I. This is the 4th trip I have earned in the past 13 years and it's still exciting earning it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to stamping with each of you in the coming year.

This is a cupcake dress I made for a bridal shower this past weekend. I know, you're thinking this doesn't have anything to do with Stampin' Up! Well, you are wrong. See that bow on the dress? It was made using the bow die and the big shot. I used the icing paper (yes, it's edible) you find in the baking section to make the bow. It needed something at the waist and I thought that was the perfect touch.

Here is a close-up of the bow. See, how cool is that?

Also, here are this week's weekly deals. If you would like any of these specials please let me know by Sunday, July 6 so I can place the order for you. You can always place the order yourself online as well. Which ever is easier for you.
