Who Who is ready for another Fab Friday?

Hello Stamping Friends,

Thanks for stopping by again for another Fabulous Friday posting.  Be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for some other ideas.  This week we are featuring some of our favorite new products.  There are so many fun products that made it difficult to decide which one was my favorite.  But I did come up with an idea that I think you will like anyway.

I decided to use the new 2-step owl punch because I couldn't wait to get it and I haven't had a chance to play with it yet.  I used colors that coordinate with the Play Date Designer Series Paper to design my card. The base is chocolate chip then I layered a piece of the Play Date paper.  Then I cut rectangles of old olive, tempting turquoise, real red, and so saffron.  For the owl I used several pieces of the play date paper. I also used the new extra gigantic scallop circle punch. I punched two, one from crumb cake and one from chocolate chip and offset them when I layered them together.  Of course the scallop is attached using dimensionals.

Just for fun, I used some neutral brads for the center of the owls eyes.  I think the tiny pearls or rhinestones could also work for his eyes.  I'll have to try that next time.

Don't forget to jump over to Sisters in Stamping to see what other products are the favorites of the other sisters.

Have a great weekend.

Do you want to be a hostess?

After you check out what the Sisters have for you today you will certainly want to host a workshop so you can earn these sets for FREE.  They can't be bought either.  It's another Fabulous Friday at Sisters in Stamping.  Obviously, we were challenged to make something with one of the new hostess sets.

I personally love the new hostess sets and can't wait to use all of them.  For this challenge though, I used the Apple Blossoms Level 2 Hostess Set.  I combined this challenge with a challenge I gave myself to make something special for my friends at convention. I bought these cute little 3x3 frames and decorated the matte board and then I used shimmer white paper for the opening and stamped the flower image in the new Daffodil Delight.  My favorite part was finished the flower off with an added smaller flower layer with a dimensional and then topped it off with one of my new favorite accessories, the rhinestones.  They are self adhesive, sparkly, and just screaming to be peeled off the paper and played with.

I think I have a three way tie going for my favorite things to use:  dimensionals, half back pearls and the half back rhinestones.  We'll have to watch the rest of the year to see what I use the most of.

Don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for more hostess set inspiration.

Need some color combos?

Then you will need to check out this site.  My Create, Ink. Colorlab.  I think it's a great tool for everyone who stamps, scraps, and creates.  I know I am often looking for some fresh, new color combinations. I will be using this site often. You can pick your color or let the site "surprise" you with new combination. How cool is that?  You'll never be at a lose for color ideas again. If anything, you will have too many to choose from.  There is also a blog that is going to be offering color challenges. Check it out HERE.

Have fun. I hope you enjoy this new tool.

All things new....

and I'm just loving it.  I love getting a box of new goodies to play with. This time of year is especially fun with the awesome new catalog that was released on July 1st.  There are some many fun, great, awesome, tempting, and simply irresistable items that I just want it all.  Of course, I can't have it all right away but I did manage to get some great new things and I'm able to show you them today.

Remember today is Fabulous Friday, so be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for some more samples using new colors.

Here she is, isn't she a beauty?  I used the new Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz in colors.  I also used So saffron.  I also used the new embossing folders called Elegant Lines. Don't you just love the embossing folders?  They add so much to a finished project.  For the flowers I used the Floral Fusion sizzlet.  Then I finished the card off with some of the awesome new half back pearls (that are self adhesive, I might add).  The largest pearl was used as the center of the flower.  For the line of pearls at the bottom, I started with the smallest pearl and gradually moved up to the largest pearl.  When you emboss with this folder it embosses circles where the line of pearls is so I just filled them in.

Here's a close up of the area of card with most detail for you to see.

Remember to head on over to the Sisters in Stamping blog for more ideas using new colors.  Next week our challenge is to use the new Hostess Sets so be sure to mark your calendar and check back then.

If you don't have your copy of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, contact me today so you can get it.

Trying to stay cool, so I went with Blue....

It's been so hot this week that I needed to try to stay cool.  I was using the power of suggestion with this card to stay cool. Imagining ocean blue water that is cold enough to quickly cool you off has to be strong enough to work, right?

Okay, not really, but this week at Sisters in Stamping we are focusing on new accessories from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog.  I didn't have very many new accessories yet because of course, my order is due to be delivered on Monday. So I used a few items from the preorder I was able to get back in June.

I used the new embossing folder, vintage wallpaper.  I covered the "debossed" side of the folder with marina mist classic ink before I put the crumb cake cardstock in the folder.  I then ran it trough the big shot and that gave me the two colors on the top layer.  I then used the Marina Mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon to run across the front.  I used the new Perfect Punches stamp set for the greeting.  I stamped the Thanks stamp on crumb cake in marina mist ink.  The greeting it attached with dimensionals.

Hope you are staying cool and enjoying the new catalog.  If you don't have your copy yet, contact me.  Don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what accessories the other sisters used.

Red, White & Blue

This week at Sisters in Stamping we were to create something red, white, and blue.  How appropriate, right?  Well at my New Catalog Release Party tomorrow, we are also doing patriotic theme and decided to make a tiered cake.  Everyone in attendance will get to take a piece of cake. It's low-fat, low-calorie, and high fiber. Ya know, high fiber because it's made with paper.

The build a wheel star wheel was used as "filling" for this cake. Pacific Point ink was used. The stars are punched out of pacific point and cherry cobbler cardstock.  The "cake" is displayed on a cake plate so it is easy to move if you need to. I finished it off with some crinkled paper and of course some festive "sparklers" at the top.

You can easily change the color of the cardstock and how you embellish this cake to create a birthday, wedding, anniversary or whatever special occasion you have coming up.  If you'd like you don't even have to make it a tiered cake. You can use each layer by itself to create a single layer cake.

Don't forget to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog to see the creations of the other sisters.  Next week we will be using our favorite new accessory from the new catalog.

Don't have your copy yet, contact me!
