Fabulous Friday

This first card is a card that is already put together on the My Digital Studio program. Very simple and easy to do. I really liked the card but I thought I needed to add some extra pizazz to it.

So I added a background color because the base of the card above is whisper white. I added the dotted striped kiwi kiss designer series paper. Then I changed the color of the button from pumpkin pie to chocolate chip and add a kiwi kiss grosgrain ribbon knot to the top of the button. I also added the chocolate chip zig zag stitching to the bottom of the card. The other thing I did was add some punched heart pieces to the turtle's back and the tiny one next to the thank you. I thought it was cute while implying "thank you from the bottom of my heart or from all my heart."
The My Digital Studio Program is fabulous. There are so many great things you can create using the program. Cards, scrapbooks, individual scrapbook pages, calendars, stationary and so many other things. The great thing is that you can combine both the digital card and embellishments you already have to come up with a hybrid project.
Book a workshop for November and you can receive the My Digital Studio software for 1/2 price with a $400 workshop. That's in addition to any item in the mini catalog for $10 and all the other fabulous hostess benefits such as, free stamps and money to spend in the catalog.
Have a wonderful day!

What Can I do with Decor Elements?

Have you ever wondered what to do with Decor Elements? Decor Elements are Stampin' Up!'s vinyl decorations that can go just about anywhere.

I wanted to fancy up my laptop a little bit and decided on this piece of decor elements to do the trick. I personalized my computer. Isn't it fun looking? I think it's much better than the boring old black top I had prior.
Brittney likes it so much that she is looking through the decor elements catalog to pick out a piece for her laptop. Now that's impressive, who would have thought anything I did would impress a 19 year old, especially my 19 year old who purposely says the opposite of what I like or want.
The decor elements are great for walls because you can easily take them off and not worry about peeling paint with it. You can also use them on or in picture frame. As the holidays get closer I will post a shadow box frame I created using decor elements. This is a great way to use the Holiday elements year after year.
If you don't have a copy of the decor elements catalog, let me know and I will get one out to you. In the meantime, check out THIS to view it online. It's under Definitely Decorative.
Have a great day. Be sure to check back tomorrow for another Fabulous Friday posting.

Small Christmas Gift

This cute little gift was created by using the Box # 2 from the big shot. I also used the embossing folder from the mini catalog. To achieve the white flowers and the red background I inked up the folder before embossing. I also used the new hostess set Patterned Pines found in the mini catalog for the front of the box. The trees were stamped, cut out, glittered and attached using my favorite thing, dimensionals.
There will be more ideas like this coming your way over the next several weeks to help you get ready for the upcoming Holiday season. It will be here before you know it. I don't think I'm ready for that but ready or not, here it comes.
Be sure to check back later today for the final Deal of the Week.
Have a great day!

Fabulaous Friday Project

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday posting. This week the sisters over on the Sisters in Stamping blog decided to add some texture to their projects. We all used the texture plates somewhere on them. Be sure to head over to the blog to check out what the other sister's created. You will love them.

I used the pillow box die to cut crushed curry cardstock. I then texturized the box by using the large polka dot texture plate. I assembled the box and added a strip of pink designer series paper from the razzleberry lemondae pack.

The focal point was created by stamping one of the birds from Cheap Talk in Bermuda Bay, punching it out with the 1 1/4" circle punch, layering that onto 1 3/8" circle of crushed curry and then layering that onto a scallop circle punch in Bermuda Bay. To finish it off, I used the white gel pen to add some dots to the scallops to carry over the polka dot look from the textured box. And of course, I added some bling to it by adding some dazzling diamonds glitter to the white wing of the bird.

This is great for a party favor or to tuck some cash in for a gift for someone.

Hope you enjoy and remember to check back often for new projects.

You can always visit my website to place your online order 24/7.

Quick Thank You Cards

I loved making 50 of these thank you cards. They were quick and easy to complete, that is once I decided on the layout of the card. No layering allowed on this one. I began with kraft cardstock (102125) and kraft envelopes (107297). It is a little hard to tell in the picture that it's kraft cardstock but trust me on this one, it really is.

I decided the Baroque Motifs (113490) stamp set was a good choice because I could "layer" the colors and stamps on each other to achieve a layered look. I used elegant eggplant (105234) and old olive (103063) craft pads for the ink. I wanted the colors to be vibrant and wouldn't have achieved that goal with the classic pads. For the greeting, I used the set Sincere Salutations (115068). I love the look of this set. You can really dress up a card with the script text. Honestly, I think it looks great anytime it is used. It is a versatile set that covers all bases.

Hope you enjoyed today's quick and easy card.

Remember if you would like to order any of the products used in this card or any other products, visit my website by clicking HERE

Have a Marvelous Monday. Be sure to check back often for more cards, gifts, and other goodies.

I love Fabulous Friday

Today is Fabulous Friday. I think it's fabulous for several reasons. It's the last day of school this week, we had a 2 hour delay thanks to some ridiculous October snow, I have a workshop this evening that I get to stamp with some new stampers (new to me anyway) and time for another Fabulous Friday posting over at Sisters in Stamping. Remember to check out the blog to see what the other sisters did.

Over there at Sisters in Stamping we have been focusing all month on the different Big Shot dies. Well today is no different. The focus for this week is the embosslit dies. I decided to use the flower burst die that is on special this week (only $5.99 until Sunday, regular price $11.95).

I created a nice little desk set using the razzleberry lemonade designer series paper and the coordinating colors of cardstock, rich razzleberry, crushed curry and melon mambo. Isn't it a darling little set? The giant paper clips make great bookmarks. I used pop up glue dots on the center of each flower to add some chunky glitter. Look up at the first picture to see it better. To make the bookmarks you die cut 2 flowers and use a pop up glue dot on each one and then sandwich the paper clip between them.

The post it note holder is made using an arcylic frame with the part that makes it stand positioned at the top. The open space would be great for a small picture of a loved one or a mini tear off calendar. I used the white gel pen sporadically on the flowers and I think it really added a lot to the overall appearance of each project.

The above picture is a little coupon or receipt keeper. It was a clear case that I lined with the razzleberry lemonade paper. The flowers are on the outside attached again with pop up glue dots. I even tried to reposition one of the flowers on the post it note holder and I couldn't. They are really strong and do a great job.
I hope you enjoy today's projects and remember to check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for more ideas.
You can always order any of these projects by visiting my website to place your order online.
Hope you have a Fabulous Friday

Have you been booed?

I know a lot of people are into booing their co-workers or neighbors so I thought this card would be great for all of you. At the school I'm student teaching at they are booing so I can't wait to boo someone and use this card.

Here's a little boo for you. I love this little ghost stamp. You will find it on the under $10 page in the catalog. Pair it with some extra wide striped ribbon and your favorite background stamp (mine is the polka dot background, which is still available) and you have a quick, easy, yet nice looking card.

Think of doing it in any Halloween colors, add some purple or green or just switch the current colors (only orange and basic black) around and you will change the look with minimal effort on your part.

Fabulous Friday

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday. It's funny how now that I'm student teaching, I really look forward to Friday. I love being there at the school but Friday is really nice too.

My "sisters" and I have decided to focus on the Big Shot Bigz dies for this week's product challenge. Be sure to check out the Sisters in Stamping Blog to see what the other 3 have created. They are great ideas that you won't want to miss

I was also asked by one of my hostesses to create a frame similar to the one that is shown on page 118 of the catalog, so I decided to take both challenges and conquer them in one project. I created the above butterfly frame using the Beautiful Butterflies die and the Lattice die.

I cut 9 butterflies from the Cottage Wall paper and die cut 4 lattice pieces to create the border. I didn't have to use the whole lattice piece since most of it was covered so I cut sections of it to frame off the project.

For a few of the butterflies, I outlined or doodled around the edges using Stampin' Write Markers to make them stand out a little more.

If you would like to purchase any of these materials or any other materials be sure to visit my website.

Hope you have a Fabulous Friday.

World Card Making Day Projects

Hello there Stampin' Friends,

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I have been extremely busy with my student teaching experience that I haven't had a moment to spare to update the blog. I had my first observation yesterday (that's why I was so busy, needed to prepare for that). It went extremely well and my college supervisor didn't have anything negative to say. What a relief. I'm so proud of the 18 first graders and their excellant behavior during the observation. It sure made things go much smoother for me. Now I only have 3 more observations to go and I'm finished. After Friday, I am 1/3 of the way done with the student teaching experience.

Anyway, enough about that. I have 6 cards to share with you today. All of these cards were part of the World Card Making Day - Christmas Cards Class that was held on Saturday. If you weren't able to attend, I'm sorry you missed these great cards. Don't worry I'll be holding more classes, so be watching for the class schedule to mark you calendar.

The above card was created by Lucia Behler, a member of my Yurinkin' Stamp Addicts team. I love the simplicity of the embossed look of this card. The stamp set is Home for Christmas. The card uses handsome hunter, very vanilla and ruby red cardstock. The stamp was inked in versamark and embossed in gold. The wreath was colored in using the Ruby red marker.

I created the above card using the Berry Christmas set found in the mini catalog. It uses whisper white, rich razzleberry, old olive and brushed gold cardstock. The ink used was Encore Gold, old olive and rich razzleberry. I love the paper stamped with the poinsetta in the background. Several people at the class thought they didn't get their sheet of designer series paper. They didn't realize it was just stamped. You can always make your own designed paper to match any project.

The above card was also created by Lucia. She used Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. These non-traditional Christmas colors make for a really fun card. She used the new snowflake set called Serene Snowflake for this card. The silver snowflakes were actually stamped with the platinum shimmer paint, which is also found in the mini catalog.

The Joy card I created using the big shot Serif Essentials alphabet and the Delightful Decorations stamp set from the mini catalog. The cardstock is Always artichoke and real red. The designer series paper, Merry Moments, is found in the big catalog.

The blue card above uses the Tree Trimmings stamp set with the Many Merry Messages for the greeting. To create this card I used Night of Navy, Bordering Blue and Whisper White Cardstock. I used the Encore silver pad along with the night of navy, bordering blue and brocade blue pads. I also used the diamond pattern texture plate on the bordering blue cardstock. In real life, it looks so nice, not sure if you'll be able to get the full beauty of the card from the picture. The ornaments are stamped, cut out, and attached with (my favorite thing) dimensionals.

The above card was created by Lucia also. I love the non tradtional colors she used for it. Cardstock is bermuda bay, whisper white and green galore. Ink is bermuda bay and green galore. She also used the satin white ribbon, white gel pen and dimensionals for the trees.
If you would like to place an order for any of these items (or any other items), click here.
Have a marvelous Thursday.

Fabulous Friday

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday. I'm loving Friday more and more as my student teaching experience moves along. I love being in school with the students but I really love the weekend off.

This week's fabulous Friday challenge with the Sisters in Stamping was to use a pop up die for the Big Shot. I was going to use the Christmas tree from the mini catalog but decided to wait on that one for a bit. Instead I used the pop up cake die. I'm really please with how my wedding card turned out, I hope you enjoy it too.

This first picture is a close up of the wedding cake. I used the bridal designer series paper, whisper white, old olive and elegant eggplant cardstocks for the cake. I used the eyelet border punch to make the cake more decorative. I also used the birds and branches sizzlit decorative strip die to decorate the cake. I thought lovebirds would be a perfect cake topper.

The above picture is of the complete inside of the card with the belly band off to the left side. Isn't it a great surprise for the bride and groom when they open their wedding card?

This final picture is of the outside of the card. I continued the lovebird them to the outside by using exactly the same materials that I used on the cake itself. I made a belly band (1" x 11") out of elegant eggplant cardstock and attached ribbon the whole length to dress it up a bit while holding the card closed. The Mr. & Mrs. is stamped in craft ink and embossed with clear powder. It is from the Together Forever stamp set.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the projects created by the other "sisters" over HERE
Have a Fabulous Friday and a Wonderful Weekend.

Welcome to October

Welcome to October. I can't believe how fast time is going, although I should not be surprised because each and every passing day time seems to go faster and faster. Days turn quickly into weeks and so on and on.

I thought I would open this fun month of October up with some Halloween samples. I will be sharing a few more tomorrow so be sure to check back.

The above card was one I stamped at the demonstrator shoebox swap I went to on Saturday. Funny story with this one. It wasn't until I was coloring the dog in that I realized it was a dog. Never really paid attention to this stamp. I just thought he had a bag or blanket on his foot that he was tryin to get off. Silly me, it's a dog trying to eat the skeleton's bone. No use being blonde if I'm not going to show it once in a while. Yes, I can laugh at myself.

The happy pumpkin card was one of the cards I did for my monthly Stamp a Stash class that I held last night. The class is a lot of fun. I have one lady in particular that tells me it's her favorite day of the month. (That makes me happy. Thanks, Mary) This card was relatively easy to create. The pumpkins are watercolored using an aquapainter and ink pads. I really like how this one turned out. It's simple, clean lines are appealing to the eye (well, my eye anyway).
There are still a few spots open for the Christmas card class on Saturday. $25.00 for 12 cards and envelopes and an extra gift for attending. Let me know if you would like to come.
Have a wonderful day.
